The first National LGBT Sports Summit held

The first National LGBT Sports Summit, held on the 14th June 2008 has been hailed a huge success by organisers. It saw a wide representation of LGBT sports organisers from across the UK, with representatives from EGLSF (European Lesbian and Gay Sports Federation, FGG (Federation of Gay Games), World OutGames 2009 Copenhagen and an array of mainstream national governing body representatives taking part.

Guest speakers came from Stonewall, EGLSF and the World Outgames 2009, which helped stimulate discussion and debate throughout the day. The networking was there to be had as the enthusiasm and passion from delegates led to valuable learning as well as feedback from workshops. A summit report will be made avaialble soon.

Delegates showed overwhelming support for the summit and the hope to see it become an an annual event. Appreciation for the organising team and fellow delegates taking part was evident from the response over the summit.

The LGBT National Sports Summit is up and running and by all reports a winner.
