Manchester Pride's King & Queen to be crowned

Who will reign supreme?

The big question on the lips of those in Manchester right now is just who will be crowned the King and Queen of the village for Pride 2008. The finale takes place in Sackville Gardens on Friday 22nd August and it seems competition for this coveted parade leading position is fierce. The lucky winners will lead the Manchester Pride Parade on Saturday 23rd August as it winds it way through the city.

Jackie Crozier, festival manager of Manchester Pride, said: “We’ve got some steep competition this year with almost all the Village bars involved. And its no wonder with such an amazing prize of leading the Parade- lets just hope they’ve all practised their royal wave.”

Real Manchester wishes all potential Kings and Queen the best of luck and suggest maybe a corgi addition or two may swing the vote. Woof your majesties.
