Tonight the shopping centre was pretty in pink. Well, okay, it wasn't pretty - because it's a concrete shopping centre. But the gays were all out in pink for Pride, which couldn't help raise a smile! What a cool, simple idea... a bit like a themed clubnight but on a grander scale, with bar and club staff joining in, and almost everyone having made some kind of an effort.

So this is how it works then... you start the night in the -2 basement level of the complex, drinking your way around the various bars, chatting to lots (and lots and lots) of people on the way and generally having a great time. As the bars gently start to thin out it's time to move up to the -1 level, where more bars are ready to receive anyone who hasn't overdone the (generous) measures of spirits below. And finally, the ground level offers a range of clubs from the poppy to the downright filthy!

This all works really well - with the only slight drawback of there being lots of nooks and crannies in the shopping centre which can tend to harbour unsavoury sorts. Yes, you can get robbed anywhere... but it seems that policing the area would be very difficult and - for our group at least - led to pickpockets making off with a wallet right under our nose... with very little we could do about it...
