For a capital city like Madrid, in a laid back country like Spain, you'd hope that the Pride festival would be well supported and the parade well attended...

The streets through the centre of Madrid were totally unpassable for around ten hours as what appeared to be every man, woman and kid turned out to cheer on the floats. The floats themselves, in fact, had little room to manoeuvre and travelled at a snails pace, with stewards battling to keep some road visible in front of the trucks.

REALPride was lucky enough to get a spot on a balcony (a huge thankyou to Peter for being so organised and for inviting us up to share the view!) which enabled us to have a few drinks, keep cool and take some shots without risking the camera equipment under the barrage of water that was liberally thrown from other balconies to help keep the throng below cool in the afternoon sun!

The parade kept on coming even as the sun had set, with the orange glow of street lighting giving us a chocolate box finale to what has to have been the busiest parade we've had the pleasure to witness. Spectacular.
