For many people, Madrid Pride is ALL about the street party... and when I say 'many people'... I really mean 'a GREAT many people'... The streets around the Chueca area in the centre of the city are home to many of Madrid's gay and gay-friendly establishments, making this area the centre of attention over Pride. It seemed as though any open space was filled with either a makeshift DJ stage, or - if the space was big enough - a more formal arrangement with Madrid Pride putting on cabaret and live acts throughout the weekend.

On the plane home there were people who still had tickets in their pockets for some of the big parties - having never made it off the streets because they were having far too much fun.
