It was the seventh annual Reading Pride, and despite a few hefty clouds in the sky, the rain held off for thousands of people enjoying the funfair and live entertainment in Kings Meadow.

This is a free event, which although modest by some of the bigger Pride events in the country, nevertheless never loses sight of the meaning of Pride to champion diversity and equality in the local area. With a great mix of people and a genuinely good atmosphere, this is one of my personal favourites!

Big thumbs up to Sandra, who worked tirelessly to host the main stage area and kept us all thoroughly entertained throughout - and, of course, to all the lovely entertainers who gave their time for Pride. We managed to catch Cherry Poppin, Lucinda Lashes, Miss Hap, The Boy George Experience, Diane James and The Dolly Rockers.

The event wouldn't happen without some hard all-year-round work by the organisers and trustees - well done on another perfectly executed event.
