We celebrate Cambodia Pride in May to coincide with International Day Against Homophobia on the 17th May.
This year on the 17th May, there was a Solidarity Evening where were invited LGBT, friends and people who work with the LGBT community to come together for snacks, drinks and socializing at a local restaurant.
We watched a Photo Documentary of the week's events and listened to three guest speakers: a Cambodian lesbian who shared her experiences, a Pride organizer who gave an overview of the situation for LGBT in Cambodia and a Pride Organiser who spoke about LGBT globally and IDAHO.
This was an evening to reflect on the success of Pride, remember the happy memories from the past week and celebrate new friendships - but it was also a night to remember that much more needs to be done so that LGBT people are no longer discriminated against because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
