Finding the perfect spot to watch the parade from isn't usually a difficult thing in Madrid - the atmosphere anywhere along the huge Gran Via is incredible - with the entire city out to enjoy the spectacle.

But this year there was a rumour... and the rumour seemed to be gathering credibility... and then it was all over the news and... well, it seemed that Kylie was going to be playing for us at the end of the parade.

We headed for the stage at Plaza de España. Early!

As the last of the floats floated by a team of dancers that we'd seen a few days before took to the stage and set about teaching the gathered crowd some moves to Kylie's new single, 'All The Lovers'. With a brief interlude to allow The Vengaboys to be back in town the stage was cleared and Kylie did, as promised, step under the lights and into the heat announcing "I'm happy to be your goddess tonight!" to a scream that seemed to emanate from everywhere at once...
